= a difficult swimming-stroke to swim or impractical
= means that this swimming-stroke never descripted clearly
= the rating of the swimming-stroke (a rating of 8 is good to swim)
PS: Swimming-strokes are derived based on their visual resemblance.

This swimming-stroke looks like the Simple backstroke which is swum on the back and where the arms are crossed on the chest. During the whole cyclus the arms are kept there. The legstroke is a wide frog-kick and a long gliding-phase is made. This is a simple swimming-stroke to swim but not an interesting one.

This swimming-stroke looks like the Simple backstroke and the arms do a double overarmstroke where they are pulled through at the same time. The gliding-period is reasonbly long.

Combination arms and legs : long
Remark : Not an ideal combination

This swimming-stroke looks like the Simple backstroke where the arms are simultaneous pulled through under water until they are stretched above the head. The legstroke is a frog-kick. This swimming-stroke is good to swim and is a good excercise for example the English backstroke.

Combination of the arms and legs : short

This swimming-stroke looks also like the Simple backstroke where the arms are simultaneous pulled through under water until they are stretched above the head. The legstroke is the same one which is swum with the Hitoe-noshi, a noshi-kick and is carried out vertically. Because of the noshi-kick the knee of the leg that glidings along with the shin-bone, comes above the water. This is normal.

This swimming-stroke is good to swim, although not very efficient because the damming-force is lower compared with the inverted breaststroke.

Combination arms and legs : short

This swimming-stroke looks like the Simple backstroke where the arms are simultaneous pulled through under water (while they are fully stretched) until they are above the head and the hands touches each other. While the arms are pulled through the palm of the hand must face the ceiling to minimize the water resistance. This is a remarkable and an interesting swimming-stroke.

Combination arms and legs : (semi-)long

The last swimming-stroke of this serie looks also like the Simple backstroke where the arms are simultaneous pulled through under water and make a half pull through.

Combination arms and legs : Semi-long
Remarks : nice to try out.
